Dubai Safari Park reopened for its eighth season on 12 October, returning to the city’s tourism offering as cooler weather brings more opportunities for outdoor attractions, family excursions and wildlife experiences.

The 119-hectare park in Al Warqa is home to more than 3,000 animals representing about 300 species across six themed zones. Its attractions include safari journeys, animal encounters and live presentations that combine entertainment with education about wildlife and conservation. The Park typically closes during the hotter summer months and resumes operations in October.

The reopening was timed to coincide with the UAE school mid-term break, with a special programme running from 12 to 18 October. Dubbed the “Wildest Opening Week”, the programme included children’s activities, live performances, safari-themed games and interactive experiences designed to draw families during the holiday period.

Beyond the opening-week events, the park offers visitors different ways to experience its animal habitats. The Arabian Desert Safari is included in the standard admission ticket, while the Safari Bundle includes the Explorer Safari Tour. Premium options include private guided tours and behind-the-scenes experiences, giving visitors alternatives at different price points.

The attraction adds to Dubai’s range of outdoor activities during the cooler months, when the emirate’s tourism offering extends beyond shopping malls, indoor entertainment and large-scale events. For visitors travelling with children, attractions that can occupy several hours may also influence how families structure their itineraries and how long they spend in the destination.

For Kenya’s outbound travel market, the reopening provides another activity that can be incorporated into Dubai family holidays during the December school break and the wider winter travel season. Its commercial value will depend on how well it fits with flight schedules, accommodation, transfers and other attractions in a package, as well as the overall cost to families.

The Park is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm during the season, with last entry at 5 pm. The standard Safari Park Pass starts at AED 50, while the Safari Bundle is listed at AED 117. Travellers should confirm ticket inclusions, available experiences and prices before booking.
