British Airways has debuted its new lounge concept at Miami International Airport and Dubai International Airport, the carrier announced.

The new spaces are part of the airline’s £7 billion transformation plan, which includes recent revamps at lounges in London Gatwick, Lagos, Singapore, Seattle and Washington Dulles.

Working in partnership with global architecture and design firm Gensler, the carrier said the new design concept in Miami and Dubai will serve as the “vision” for future lounge developments.

British Airways’ chief customer officer Calum Laming said: “These unique spaces have been created with our customers in mind and are the next step in our extensive lounge transformation plan.”

The Miami lounge covers 13,000 square feet and is the largest lounge outside of London solely operated by BA, according to the carrier. It is located in Terminal E above the departure gates and includes a centrepiece bar with views of the airfield, a dining room for first-class passengers, a self-service dining area, “focus pods,” a lowered central lounge with partitions for private space and two shower suites.

The Dubai lounge is located in Terminal 1 and spans nearly 5,800 square feet. It includes a bar, a self-service dining area, a designated dining room for first-class customers and a Coffee Planet, a United Arab Emirates-founded coffee brand.

Access to the lounges is available to British Airways customers travelling in first or business class, British Airways Club loyalty members with Silver status and above, and Oneworld customers with Sapphire status and above, according to the carrier.
